The Mentoring Programmes provides senior students with training and skills to help them assist and support the incoming First year students.

The following areas are covered:

• What is a Mentor?
• Leadership skills.
• Listening skills.
• Hopes and fears as Mentors.
• Communication.

The Mentoring programme provides the First-year student with a contact in their new school that they can approach for any reason as they step into a new and often very daunting environment.

This programme has proven to be a big success with First-year students who felt “Less afraid knowing someone older in the new school”.

Prefect Training

The aim of the Prefect training is to help the Prefects understand their role as a helping person in the whole school environment.

The training involves looking at the following areas:

• What is the job of a Prefect & what it involves
• Team building, leadership skills
• Listening skills and communication
